Tombstone Ryde
It’s 4am on Friday morning and 42 degrees and I am pulling out of the driveway and heading to Arizona for another RT adventure with my spyder ryder friends from WCS.
This time will be a little different because we are not going together, but instead we are just meeting at the home base location. That is almost five hundred miles away.
The morning chill allowed me to set the heated hand grips on high and put the shield up all the way to push the cold air around me instead of on me.
Through the mountains and finial down to the desert floor and the air temperature is only 54 degrees.
I get to Yuma az. Just as the sun rise peaks the mountains and directly in my eyes I decide to stop for gas and a little breakfast to allow the sun to rise above eye level.
Its 121 miles to Gila Bend from Yuma and the next gas stop where I will phone the closet ryder to me who turns out to be 1 ½ hrs behind me.
I head off to Tucson for the final gas stop and found out that the closet ryder to me was still 1 ½ hrs back so I head to Tombstone, AZ but decide to stop at Boot Hill and do a video and take some pics, when I am done I call Kathy who is now just 45 min behind me so I decide to wait from for her.
We head into Tombstone and the motel is one block from the main street so all the saloons are in walking distance which we found to have some of the best food.
Tony and Bill arrive just shortly after we check in and so of to the crystal Palace for dinner and it was a meat fest, I had ribs and the meat just fell of the bone, great dinner.
Saturday morning we sleep in and headed to Bisbee at 6 am for breakfast, this was a 45 min ryde where at we at the breakfast club which is next to an open mine pit that is very deep.
Back to Tombstone to pick up some supplies and we decide to head 72 miles to Chiricahua National Monument Park , this is where Cochise and Geronimo led raiding parties on the pioneer settlements.
I shot another Video of the ride through this national treasure.
The RT has been completely reliable since the sept. 5th when I picked it up in DC, I have just turned over 12,500 miles on the RT-S, what a comfortable ryde.

Remember– it’s about the ryde - not your destination
