As I continue my travels across North America, I continually find myself interacting with current and future Can-Am Spyder owners.

In November of 2009 as the dealers were receiving their demo units, I had already completed two and a half months on the Can-Am Spyder RT.  I recently met a new RT owner, Giselle, at the Irvine Demo Ride where I was supporting the West Coast Try Spyder tour team; like I usually do.

I introduced myself to Giselle and her husband Anthony, and offered my help on any questions they had about the new RT that they had just purchased a few weeks earlier. Giselle, Anthony, and their RT have recently participated in four West Coast Spyder (WCS) events during which time I was able to get to know them both pretty well.

Together they are experienced 2-wheel motorcycle (BMW) riders and enjoy the great outdoors. They came to the U. S. five years ago after Anthony’s job in Costa Rica at a cannery moved him to the Los Angeles area.  Giselle heroically battled cancer for three years, and today is a proud survivor.

After winning her bout with cancer, Anthony informed Giselle that she could have ANYTHING in the world that she wanted; what a great guy!  Wanting to continue her passion for riding, they set off to their local dealer to see what was available; having no idea what a Can-Am Spyder, and much less an RT, were.

The dealer had the new RT-S roadster in stock, and as Giselle hopped on the Spyder it was love at first touch. Anthony took care of the finances, and the RT took a spot at home right next to the BMW. She rides her roadster to work everyday and loves the amenities that the RT provides.

The Spyder community is growing fast and as I progress on my journey I can’t wait to meet more owners, current and future, who have not had the chance to experience the Can-Am Spyder.
