Break-in another RT

On Thursday I received an e-mail from one of our West Coast Spyder Ryder members and it was a simple message, so simple that I couldn’t resist saying yes. The message was “Can you come out and play on Saturday”.

After going back and forth a couple of times we decided that Kathy would come down to El Cajon Ca. from Riverside, Ca. which is about 108 miles and a 1hr and 40 min ride, with her she would be ryding a new RT-S from Malcolm Smith Motorsports where she works in the accounting department. Malcolm was allowing her to ryde the first 400 miles of the 600 mile break-in.

Kathy has been on most of the WCS event rydes and I have been on most of the Spyder Thunder rydes that she puts together which are backed by Malcolm Smith Motorsports in Riverside Ca. When Kathy arrived at my house I asked how the RT handled and then we discussed what we could do to the suspension to correct the top heavy feel.

Since I have been playing with the suspension on my RT I knew just what to do. I made her set her front suspension to 4 and reset the rear air suspension. I did do a quick video of Kathy changing the setting to 4 and an impression interview at the end of the day.

We took the back roads through crest, alpine, cuyamaca and into Julian where we stopped for a slice of warm apple pie with ice cream. When we were done we went outside and started getting the ryding gear out of the roadsters and a small crowd formed so we spent 30 minutes talking about the 2 RT’s and Kathy has heard me enough that she knows most of what I say and did a really good job.

Off we went heading back to my house where we did an interview and Kathy finally met my wife Kathy, everybody thinks that she does not exist and now there is at least one spyder ryder than knows for sure the she is the real deal.

Kathy was then off to Riverside the long way there, 380 miles later at 7 pm at I get a e-mail that she had just got home.

To be honest she left my house at about 3:30pm and should have gotten home at about 5pm so where did she go for the other 2 hour. What happens on my rydes - stays on my ryde.
